animas Oxbow
This location is one of my favorites to pause and observe the river which gently winds toward the La Platas. This is the fifteenth and perhaps final piece in the Animas River Series. The drawing accompanies Animas Oxbow, both of which have reflections as well as magical trees in the foreground. There is a deer drinking on the far bank, reminding me of the time I found a deer being challenged by two dogs until I chased them away. The summertime sunflowers are placed near the sweet peas. The reflections in the drawing appear as the day slips into evening and life becomes hushed except for the many nuanced voices of the river.
